The SouthData March of Dimes Team raised a total of $10,348 after the company matched the employee fund-raisers and donations dollar for dollar earning the title of Top Team in the Triad.

SouthData March of Dimes committee team members recently presented a check to Tracy Greenwood, the Honorary Chair for the 2008 Mount Airy March for Babies.

“We hope SouthData will continue to work with the March of Dimes,” Greenwood said. “They have done a great job, and we really appreciate it. The money goes directly to the March of Dimes to do education and research. Hopefully, we will be able to find out why we have so many premature births and be able to prevent it some day.”

SouthData March of Dimes committee members were: Tamera Jackson, Tina Williams, Meg Jacques and Dave Gardner all of Mount Airy; Cody Edwards of Cana, Va.; Elizabeth Spires of Winston-Salem; and Teresa Sisk of Pinnacle. Alicia Easter and J.D. Allen, both Pilot Mountain residents, were recognized as the Top Two Donating Employees.

“We participate in the March of Dimes every year,” said Kenny Meredith, SouthData chief financial officer. “It’s a great way for SouthData to get involved in the community and to support a worthy cause.”

Sixteen employees participated in the walk, and along with their family members, the SouthData Team had 30 people walking on May 10.
SouthData employees participated in several fundraisers including Denim Days, a peanut sale, a pizza lunch, various raffles and a picture display on the lobby monitor.

SouthData held a drawing for six personal days as incentives for participants. Employees were eligible for the prizes if they donated at least $100 to the campaign and/or participated in the March of Dimes Walk.

Twenty-six associates donated at least $100. Forty-nine employees made a donation, while others chose to participate in the various March of Dimes fundraisers.
