MicroImages: A Division of SouthData, Inc.
SouthData, Inc. of Mount Airy, N.C., a national manufacturer of billing and communication products, has acquired the assets of Micro Images, Inc. of Mobile, Ala., a document management provider specializing in microfilm, imaging, storage and retrieval.

“This acquisition will enhance SouthData’s product offerings with a broader range of services from document creation, to imaging, to archiving and storage,” said SouthData President John Springthorpe, III. “This new location puts us closer to clients in Alabama, Mississippi and the panhandle of Florida.”

SouthData acquired the assets of Micro Images, Inc. on Dec. 1. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Micro Images, Inc. employed 32 people who were hired by SouthData on that date. The new division will operate as the Micro Images Division of SouthData, Inc.

Micro Images, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Larry Emrich, who will stay on to lead the new division. “I am thrilled to have someone of Larry’s caliber lead this exciting new effort for us”, Springthorpe continued. “Larry has built a quality organization that we are very pleased to be associated with.”

“Our partnership with SouthData gives us and our customers access to the sophisticated software development and process automation technologies SouthData has created for their clients”, said Micro Images, Inc. President Larry Emrich. “The cultures of our two companies are so similar; this seemed like the natural choice.”

SouthData is a data management, printing and mailing company founded in 1985 that specializes in providing billing statements, payment coupon books and newsletters to thousands of clients throughout the United States in the healthcare, government, utility, real estate and financial services markets.

The Micro Images Division of SouthData, Inc. will continue to provide archiving, ROI, RAC and day-forward scanning to clients in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida in the healthcare, government, education, insurance and legal markets.

“Micro Images has been dedicated to providing quality service and products for its clients for 28 years,” Springthorpe said. “As a division of SouthData, Micro Images will continue its passion for customer service, a quality that SouthData makes a priority in its day-to-day operations. We look forward to working with our new clients and partners, while expanding our product offerings to all of our clients across the United States.”
