SouthData was ranked 3,062 on Inc. Magazine’s top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

“SouthData’s ranking on this prestigious list is a tribute to the hard work of all of our employees,” said SouthData President John Springthorpe, III.

Inc. Magazine has been ranking the top 500 companies for 25 years, and its editors decided to expand the list ten-fold to create the first-ever Inc. 5,000 in 2007.

In his article introducing the Inc. 5,000, Jim Melloan states, “In the Inc. 5,000, you’ll find the most comprehensive look ever at the most important part of the economy - the entrepreneurial part.

“For one thing, the Inc. 5,000 catches businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500. The median revenue growth of the Inc. 5,000 companies between 2003 and 2006 - 141 percent - is nevertheless pretty impressive, and some of them are huge.”

The magazine took a year and an army of editors, reporters and interns to locate the companies, solicit applications, evaluate eligibility, verify financial data and interview the leaders, the article explains.
