The United States Postal Service has announced new prices for letters, postcards and large envelopes.
A first class stamp will cost 44 cents, a 2-cent increase, as part of the round of changes that will go into effect May 11, 2009. Postcards will have a 1-cent increase to 28 cents. Large envelopes, also called flats, will have a 5-cent increase per ounce. The 1 ounce rate for a large envelope will be 88 cents.
