SouthData Announces Recent Promotions

SouthData is pleased to announce three promotions at the company’s headquarters in Mount Airy.

Rich Gasser has been promoted to Director of Software Development. In this capacity, Gasser is responsible for guiding SouthData’s team of 13 web and system programmers, along with mentoring the company’s Information Technology scholarship recipients, the SDI Scholars.

Gasser began his career at SouthData in 2003 as a Web Developer. He assumed progressively greater responsibilities culminating in this most recent promotion.

“I am pleased to have Rich in this new role. As the principal architect for our web-based client support system, he is imminently qualified to lead our software development activities,” said SouthData President John Springthorpe.

Gasser holds a bachelors degree from Boston University. He and his wife, Cris, reside in Pilot Mountain.

Julie Pharr has been promoted to Director of Marketing for SouthData.

“I appreciate Julie’s outstanding contributions to the success of our organization,” said Springthorpe. “She will continue to lead the marketing efforts for our three operating groups: Billing, Scanning and Networking.”

Pharr joined SouthData in 2008 as Marketing Manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Emory & Henry College, Emory, Va. She and her husband, Bart, live in Mount Airy with son, Chandler.

Joan Inman has been named Human Resources Director, responsible for benefits administration, employment activities and safety and wellness for SouthData’s team of 133 employees in North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Arizona.

Inman began her career at SouthData in 2001 as the Customer Service Manager. She previously served as Manager of the Advanced Products Group and Director of Client Satisfaction.

“Joan has a broad knowledge of our company and what it takes to be successful in a competitive environment. I am thankful that a person of her caliber is part of our organization,” Springthorpe said.

Inman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from UNC Asheville. She and her husband, Bill, live in Mount Airy.
